Editor’s Note: Fostering Community

The HRO Today Forum EMEA, held in Dublin this year, proved to be a unique and important event for HR professionals across the region. On the one hand, the event was packed with sessions from HR experts—people who had been there, seen it, done it, and importantly, are still doing it. On the other hand, it was a chance for the leaders in the field to meet, share experiences, and celebrate their achievements and those of the profession itself.

Through a variety of formats, the current experience of HR professionals was explored and explained. There were panel sessions, presentations, and “Think Tanks,” encouraging everyone to bring their ideas to the table, to update their thinking, and help create the way ahead. Connections were made between attendees, and support and advice flowed freely.

Alongside this was the chance to celebrate the outstanding work and achievements of HR professionals through the CHRO of the Year Awards gala. This event offered an impressive insight into the achievements of HR professionals giving them the proper recognition they deserve (see page 22 to learn more about the winners).

In the following articles, we’ve attempted to capture some of the learning points and ideas which emerged from the Forum. If you were there, we hope this will help support your learning from the event. If you were unable to make it, here are some ideas for you—and a taster of what’s on offer next year. We look forward to welcoming you at Lisbon, Portugal in November 2025.
