Since launching in 2019, Unifi Aviation has established robust diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices. The company has taken an agile approach to supporting the engagement and experience of its multicultural workforce through a variety of key initiatives, including the establishment of business resource groups (BRGs) that gather to give back to their work community, offer career growth and mentorship opportunities, and support collaboration across all levels of the organization.
The company’s women-focused BRG created a mentorship program that pairs senior employees with junior staff members from diverse backgrounds, providing one-on-one guidance and support. The company’s other BRGs focus on improving professional development and upskilling opportunities among Black employees, bridging gaps within the multigenerational workforce, and supporting the unique needs of LGBTQ+ employees. Unifi also hosts monthly “Educate and Elevate” webinars designed to increase awareness of its DEI activities.
Unifi also works with nonprofit organizations with local and national outreach, providing support to the broader community by prioritizing community events throughout the organization. These efforts aim to cultivate a working environment in where all employees feel valued, heard, and empowered. Each quarter, these contributions are celebrated through the company’s internal rewards and recognition programs.
Through these initiatives, Unifi Aviation has boosted its employee experience and engagement. Because of this, Unifi Aviation earned the HRO Today Association North America Award for Best in Class Employee Experience (Large Market).
