Pre-employment screening is a central component of any company’s hiring process. HR leaders are tasked with ensuring the accuracy and security of candidate information while striving for consistency in background screening processes among remote, hybrid, and in-person workers.

Every year, HRO Today conducts the Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction Survey for Pre-Employment Screening. In 2025, 800 survey respondents took time from their busy schedules to provide valuable and candid feedback for their fellow HR executives who rely on the Baker’s Dozen ratings as part of their partnership selection process. HRO Today’s Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction ratings provide an overview of the top players within pre-employment screening and insight into how screening needs have evolved with the workforce.
This presentation summarizes some of the findings from the Baker’s Dozen Customer Satisfaction Survey for Pre-Employment Screening over the last five years, using metrics like reported services used, average deal size, and overall satisfaction. Reflecting recent trends like the “Job Hugging”, the average number of services used hit a five-year low. And as organizations navigate economic volatility, shorter contracts and smaller deal sizes are becoming more common.
