Investing in Emotional Intelligence

Capgemini’s emotional intelligence training programme has increased job satisfaction, improved productivity, and delivered enhanced business outcomes to clients.

As companies address significant changes that have impacted the workforce in recent years—the rise of remote work, the impacts of automation, and balancing these changes with the need for interaction and collaboration—emotional intelligence (EI) has become a critical factor for business success.

To address these needs, Capgemini established an EI training programme focussed on the four main elements of EI: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. This programme has become the cornerstone for building a culture of EI across the organisation.

The training programme aims to build on best practices in EI, leveraging technology and data to develop a more emotionally intelligent workforce. By equipping employees with a basic level of EI, Capgemini has been able to increase job satisfaction, improve productivity, and deliver enhanced business outcomes to clients.

By making the programme available to everyone across the business services team—regardless of role, geography, gender, or amount of time with the company—Capgemini has made EI training more appealling to employees. The content, which is delivered through understandable, consumable workshops, enables participants to effectively leverage EI skills, enhance their own EI, sell by leveraging EI, and identify the links between emotions and stress.

The EI training programme has had several significant outcomes for Capgemini. The company has developed numerous AI-backed personalised learning pathways and training simulations to achieve EI across the organisation. Further, the company has been able to leverage employee feedback to update the programme and keep pace with learning needs.

By integrating EI into core organisational processes like recruitment and performance reviews, Capgemini is able to address current and potential employee needs quickly. Because of this, Capgemini has won the HRO Today Association Award for Best in Class: Employee Experience in EMEA and APAC.
