Throughout her 20-year tenure at Spherion Staffing and Recruiting, Kathy George has helped the organization thrive in a highly competitive industry. Since being appointed president earlier this year, George identified new client acquisition as a response to market challenges and expanded the company’s corporate leadership team. As part of this effort, she created a dedicated sales department to support franchisees’ client acquisition activity. These resources have helped Spherion’s 200 franchise locations focus more heavily on data in their approach to business development.
George spearheaded the creation of Spherion’s equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) council, bolstering the organization’s position that diversity is a moral imperative and a driver of innovation. EDI is now embedded into the company’s core values and recruitment practices.
In addition to expanding Spherion’s franchise network in 2022 and 2023, George’s leadership has led to 93% Spherion’s franchisees agreeing that they have a supportive culture, 91% expressing support for the brand, 87% considering themselves as active participants in the organization’s franchise network, and 83% agreeing that Spherion operates as a team culture.
As a result of George’s initiatives at Spherion, the company has seen tangible growth, a strengthened culture, and a more inclusive franchise network that is well-positioned for long-term success.
Because of this, Kathy George, president of Spherion Staffing and Recruiting, has won the HRO Today Association Award for HR Leadership, Mid-Market Provider.
