Philadelphia, PA â July 27, 2018 â SharedXpertise, publisher of HRO Today Magazine, and PeopleScout, the worldâs largest RPO provider and the No. 1 Managed Service Provider on HRO Todayâs MSP Bakerâs Dozen Customer Satisfaction Ratings for the last two years, have partnered to release the Global Unemployment Report for the first quarter of 2018.
Global unemployment levels remain low, with 24 of 49 countries analyzed reporting levels of 5.0 percent or less, which many economists consider at or near full employment. Full employment means that unemployment has fallen to the lowest possible level without causing inflation. At the end of March, unemployment in the United States held steady at 4.1 percent for the sixth consecutive month.  By comparison, unemployment rates were reported as 4.2 percent in the United Kingdom, 3.9 percent in China and 3.5 percent in Germany.
âEconomic growth for the first quarter of 2018 has been geographically broad, with growth rates rising in more than half of the worldâs economies,â said Larry Basinait, vice president of market research at SharedXpertise. âThe global growth rate for 2018 is projected to be 3.1 percent, up slightly from 2017, and is being driven by increased investment, higher inventory turn rates and strengthening demand.â
The report also analyzes the relationship between education level and employment status. âThe unemployment rate of a population often significantly drops as education levels increase,â Mr. Basinait notes. âIn fact, data reveals that on average, the unemployment rate of the least educated populations is nearly three times higher than the most educated groups. This information can help employers plan recruitment strategies based on the countries in which they operate and the skill levels required.â
