Advancing Inclusion Objectives

Kyndryl’s inclusion networks in India and Japan have helped support the company’s efforts to create a supportive environment for all employees.

Since Kyndryl’s spinoff from IBM in 2021, it has pushed forward with a differentiated culture called “The Kyndryl Way,” focussed on attracting, retaining, developing, motivating, and caring for a highly skilled and engaged workforce. This is possible through the company’s “Kyndryl Inclusion Networks (KINs),” which are company-sponsored, employee-led resource groups open to all employees. Supported by executive sponsors, “KINs” align with Kyndryl’s DEI priorities and play an important role in cultivating inclusion across the organisation.

The company’s “KINs” in India and Japan have contributed to fostering a supportive environment for all employees. During the company’s employee engagement pulse survey in the summer, Kyndryl employees in India and Japan saw increases in overall engagement. KINs across the APAC region have achieved major accomplishments across various DEI initiatives. These include the following.

  • An LGBTQ+ allyship programme in Japan aims to promote active allyship for the LGBTQ+ community. In India, the “Yours Truly” campaign fosters open discussions about allyship and associated workplace challenges.
  • A storytelling campaign in India showcases stories of disabled and neurodivergent Kyndryl employees, demonstrating their lived experiences and potential within the organisation. Additionally, India’s “True Ability” talk series includes external speakers sharing their experiences about living with disabilities and neurodiversity. These talks have over 1,000 quarterly participants.
  • On International Women’s Day, Kyndryl’s women-focussed KIN held events and activities across the APAC region to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women. These included panel discussions and storytelling campaigns in Australia and India.

The company’s full-time inclusion, diversity, and equity team works closely with “KINs” to advance goals and foster inclusion throughout the organisation. Because of this, Kyndryl won the HRO Today Association APAC Award for DEI Excellence.
