One of my responsibilities when I joined HRO Today back in 2017, in addition to supporting the HRO Today Association, was to launch and manage the CHRO Today Executive Network (C-TEN), a professional development society for top HR leaders. C-TEN is a community of HR executives from a variety of industries and organization sizes who bring different perspectives to the table. We meet one hour, once a month, alternating content sessions with guest speakers and members who work through challenges together.
This month Jeff Lackey, former VP of talent acquisition at CVS Health, joined us to discuss “Talent Acquisition in Competitive Markets.” In February, Dr. Peter Cappelli from the Wharton Center for HR, led a discussion on “Why Accounting Undervalues People and What We Can do About it.” In January, we discussed “Planning for Future Economic Uncertainty” as a group.
I am pleased to share that after six successful years in North America, we are launching the program in Europe! We will hold virtual meetings as we build the group, with the first official meeting taking place in-person at the HRO Today Forum EMEA on November 8th in Barcelona, Spain. Last month, the HRO Today Association hosted the latest installment of its Livestream series. The February 15th program, “Reducing Recruitment Hiring Time in a Tight Labor Market,” was presented by member Maureen Tanguay, global head of recruitment operations and talent solutions for GSK. She focused on how to use data analytics to optimize hiring speed throughout the end-to-end hiring process and how to embed changes for a lasting impact. Tanguay shared some of her experiences while also fielding questions and examples from attendees.
