The fourth quarter is near, and if you are like me, you are wondering “Where did the year go?” It seems every year goes by more quickly than the one before. But as individuals, families, and employees, we are always working to maximize our time, save time, and do our best to ensure the time we do spend is meaningful.
Although I can’t make time go more slowly or give you any back, I can help you maximize your time and resources at work. The HRO Today Global HR Association provides you access to a network of HR executives and industry experts, interesting articles, best practices, educational webinars, and videos. Like with any company, it is all about the people you work with and the power of the team. Together, we can accomplish more and better maximize our time. The 4,000-plus members of the association are a great resource to increase your team’s strength and keep you informed about what’s happening in the HR industry. Think of it this way: “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson
Whether you are reevaluating a current process or starting a new one, there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. Learn from others who have already done what you are trying to accomplish and see what worked, what didn’t, and why. Our monthly, one-hour Thought Leadership Councils (TLCs) provide information from best-selling authors, HR executives, and workforce experts. TLCTalks are short, five- to 10-minute videos that showcase best practices, business advice, and what other companies are doing well, changing, and trying new. Additionally, by joining one of our three committee work groups, you can provide input as we evaluate, discuss, and set standards and practices in HR. The committees are also a great resource to meet and network with other HR professionals who are working to solve HR issues, manage teams, and improve their company.
To our current members, I am looking forward to a productive fourth quarter. For those not yet a part of the association, we hope you will consider joining us. Let us help you grow, develop, and learn. You can help us by sharing your success stories and experiences. There is power in numbers, and hopefully we can even save you some time and effort through the power of the global HR association.
The bad news is time flies; the good news is you are the pilot.
