Naval Medical Center Chooses Kenexa’s Recruitment Solution

Kenexa, a global provider of talent acquisition and retention solutions, has announced that the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA (NMCP), a military healthcare facility that provides cutting-edge care to half a million military patients each year, has chosen its enterprise recruiting software solution.

Like many organizations, NMCP has experienced difficulties in quickly identifying and hiring qualified job candidates in a timely manner. Realizing the hospital risked losing top talent to the private sector; NMCP set out to find a solution and became the first naval hospital to employ a civilian company to manage its recruiting and hiring workflows.

With Kenexa’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) applicant tracking system, companies turn their web sites into interactive career centers while reducing cost and time per hire. The system seamlessly integrates with Kenexa’s proven testing and assessment technologies to consistently identify the most talented candidates. In the case of NMCP, Kenexa and partner Managed Business Solutions (MBS), a company that provides IT services to the federal sector, will help the hospital refine business practices to streamline recruitment and hiring processes.

“The government civil service selection process can cause quite a backlog and it is often a lengthy undertaking to get new staff onboard. We needed to identify and process candidates more quickly,” said Lt. Cmdr. Brian Carman of NMCP. “I was impressed with Kenexa’s proven track record in the government sector.  They were also able to provide a detailed process map showing how we could reduce our time in filling positions.”

Rudy Karsan, Kenexa’s CEO, commented, “We are excited to help NMCP effectively compete for qualified candidates. This will ensure that qualified medical staff will be on hand to provide quality care for our men and women in the military. We’re honored that NMCP chose Kenexa Government Solutions and we’re looking forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship between our organizations.”
