Editor’s Note: HR Honors

“I don’t believe there has ever been a better time to be in HR,” Brian Little, vice president, human resources – corporate functions for Intel Corporation, told me earlier this month when I connected with the 2017 CHRO of the Year award winner for our coverage of the 10th anniversary of our awards, Decade of Excellence. “All companies have gone through a lot over the last three years due to COVID, supply chain challenges, worker shortages, a focus on human rights, and adjusting to work from home in many cases. HR professionals are at the heart of the challenges and solutions.”

Those are some of the main reasons that we continue to recognize innovative individuals with our CHRO of the Year awards. Learn more about this year’s roundup of finalists in Forging the Future. It’s one of our biggest group yet and it’s no surprise considering the impact they’ve made at their organizations. From hitting DEIB goals and improving the employee experience, to enabling career progression and implementing influential HR and AI-driven technology, these leaders are spearheading transformation for their businesses and beyond.

This year’s winners will be announced at the upcoming HRO Today Forum North America in Las Vegas. At this year’s confab, I will be hosting a panel: “Leading HR to Become a True Business Partner.” I’ll be joined by Debra Patsky, SVP of HR for Xerox; Tracy Layney, EVP and CHRO of Levi Strauss & Co.; and Stephane Charbonnier, CHRO of L’Oréal. In the last few years, CHROs have taken a commanding role in ushering businesses into a new world of work and we will be discussing real-time examples of how HR can shape business strategy. The panelists will also provide best practices for becoming true business partners to the organization.

New to this year’s Forum are “HR Think Tanks.” Lead by HR executives, topics including changing regulatory environments, HR and operational management, and the current talent economy, will be discussed in intimate settings with liked-minded individuals. This is a great opportunity to learn, network, and share!

Hope to see you there!

Until next time,

Debbie Bolla

SVP/Editorial Director
