Gecis Global Adopts Genpact Name, Touts Growth

One of the heavyweights in the enterprise outsourcing market, New Delhi, India-based Gecis Global has changed its identity to Genpact. The former GE unit said the change was to better convey its global scope.

            We chose [the new name] because it so aptly communicates our brand promise generating value, commitment, partnership and impact, said Pramod Bhasin, president and chief executive officer, Genpact.

            The new identity is to help the company establish a stronger brand since it was establish as a separate GE unit at the end of last year. In the nine months since, the company said it has secured more than a dozen clients with orders of more than $160 million. It claims that it will reach more than $1 billion in revenues with more than 30,000 employees by 2008. Its clients include  airline transportation, auto manufacturing, banking, insurance, pharmaceutical, and entertainment.

            The company operates facilities in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur and Kolkata in India. It said it is also expanding into China, Eastern Europe, and Mexico. In addition to GE ownership, General Atlantic, and Oak Hill also hold a 60 percent equity in the company.
