Editor’s Note: New Beginnings

By Debbie Bolla

Welcome to the inaugural issue of HRO Today APAC! Our goal is to provide you the latest trends in human capital management for the APAC region. And how are we going to do this?

Let me introduce you to our Editor-at-Large, Michael Switow.

Switow is a seasoned journalist, broadcaster, and author. He made his start in Asia writing for the Associated Press in Manila, then as a radio and financial journalist in Hong Kong, where he covered the city’s return to China. Switow rode the Internet bubble to Singapore, from where he has written extensively over the past two decades on economic, political, and organisational issues that affect every aspect of human resources management.

Switow is going to offer our readers a very valuable local perspective that the magazine has been lacking in the past. In just this issue alone, Switow touches on trends having a major impact in APAC: recruiting approaches that work China’s dynamic market; managing talent through lateral moves; and Asia’s top cities for mobility and millennials.

HRO Today APAC will continue to provide readers with our industry-leading Baker’s Dozen rankings. Click here to find out this year’s top mobility service providers.

This move to a new format was largely based on feedback from you -so please let us know what you think!
