Are you keeping your workforce engaged? Do they feel valued as your most important corporate asset? How is sponsoring a corporate employee recognition program helping your organization improve performance?

These are the same questions your peers around the world ask as they examine their own efforts to engage and reward employees for their contributions. In HRO Today’s annual look at the employee recognition market, we explore market trends, analyze case studies, and rank the top-performing employee recognition and incentives service providers in the market today.

The rankings contained within the Baker’s Dozen for Employee Recognition and other service areas in HRO Today magazine are based on customer survey feedback data. The indices are the result of a multistep process. The editorial staff of HRO Today identified more than 20 true comprehensive recognition and rewards service providers to be surveyed. Our editorial team then asked providers to identify contacts at customers to take part in the survey. In addition, we identify other buyers to participate in the survey. Each respondent receives a survey instrument that asks questions about services provided, scope, and scale of services and the quality and satisfaction with the services.

The respondents provided their e-mail addresses for verification, but their responses are kept in strictest confidence. The information contained in the surveys, once collected, was loaded into the HRO Today database and analyzed to determine scores for each provider for whom we had a statistically significant sample.

For this survey, we received sufficient data to index 10 providers based on feedback from 96 verified customers. Two additional companies were included based on industry feedback. The individual rankings are determined based on point assignments and weightings of questions and a predetermined algorithm that calculates the overall score based on breadth of service, size of programs offered, and quality of services. This algorithm does vary by HR outsourcing line of business but produces an overall index for each. Quality of service is always the most heavily weighted category in the overall ranking as this allows companies that may be excellent providers but smaller in size to demonstrate their capabilities on an even playing field. The rankings and the weightings are determined statistically, and all the feedback is from customers. The ratings system is not the opinion of HRO Today or its staff. We only provide a methodology, and we do not claim that our methodology is the only ratings program available, but we can, however, vouch for its authenticity.
