Ceridian Forms Agreement With Rideau To Deliver Employee Reward And Recognition Programs

Ceridian will be first HR outsourcing company to offer comprehensive employee recognition programs

(MINNEAPOLIS) – Sept. 1, 2005 – Ceridian (www.myceridian.com), a leader in managed human resource management outsourcing solutions that maximize the value of people, today announced that it has formed an exclusive agreement with Rideau Recognition Solutions to deliver reward and retention programs to its clients. Ceridian Rewards and Recognition Solutions, powered by Rideau, will be rolled out in fall 2005.

In joining with Rideau, Ceridian will become the first human resource outsourcing company to make available employee recognition programs as part of its suite of human resources and employee effectiveness offerings.

Ceridian will now offer a complete suite of traditional and Web-based recognition and incentive programs that can scale to any customer size – from 50 to 150,000 employees. This will include employee recognition initiatives, such as tenure awards, performance awards, and a variety of “soft awards,” celebrating occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. Companies that select these services will receive an end-to-end solution, featuring program conceptualization, design and branding through to manufacturing, product merchandising, data management and global 24-hour distribution.

“By working with Rideau to offer full-scale recognition services, Ceridian can now offer managers at its client companies a tool for retention and productivity enhancement. Employee recognition programs are an excellent fit with our current talent acquisition and management offerings, which are designed to help companies attract and retain top talent,” said Dianna Sheppard, senior vice president of sales and implementation for Ceridian.

“Employee recognition programs have come a long way from the days of bestowing gold watches at retirement and are now regarded as valuable currency in today’s workplace. Smart companies are beginning to integrate them with their other human capital strategies.”

James MacDonald, managing director at First Analysis Securities Corporation added, “By combining payroll-related services with employee recognition, employers now have a new tool that has traditionally been offered ad hoc, un-managed, and un-automated. Bundling should certainly give thousands of employers access to this previously hard-to-find form of employee-employer value exchange. Especially novel is its integration within the customer’s technology platform.”

“The Ceridian-Rideau relationship shows that employee recognition has become top-of-mind among the top tier of human resource providers,” said Peter Hart, Rideau’s CEO. “We conducted extensive market research with hundreds of companies about the value proposition of combined offerings from Ceridian and Rideau and found that there is already a very high level of interest. By bringing together our strengths in employee recognition programs with Ceridian’s powerful human resource outsourcing offerings, we’re creating a powerful combination.”

Ralph Destino, former chairman of Cartier and chairman of Rideau’s board of directors, said, “Our team is totally committed to the success of this relationship, and we’ve pledged every effort to make it happen.” Former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson, a member of Rideau’s board, added, “Rideau’s commitment to excellence is certain to make this alliance very successful.”
