Quest Diagnostics uses Oracle “Journeys” to help usher the workforce through the entire employee lifecycle. Both onboarding and offboarding processes are orchestrated through the platform, so employees and managers alike have all the information and navigation at their fingertips.

The program was implemented across Quest Diagnostics in 2019. Several challenges arose after its implementation, which required its HR leaders to define a path forward for using the program. Utilizing direct engagement with users, providing an ongoing feedback mechanism, and ensuring user involvement led Quest Diagnostics to a more successful outcome.

The organization also created a customer advisory board that serves as a focus group for new functionalities within Oracle while also allowing the company to receive feedback on existing processes and opportunities for improvement. Implementing the new system also led the company to a more robust approach to change management, which the organization measured through a detailed stakeholder analysis.

For each new technology introduced by Quest Diagnostics, a dedicated project leader is appointed. This ensures that the project progresses smoothly and that all leaders are provided with routine updates. All portions of Quest’s HR technology road map, which includes Oracle, are reviewed and assessed each year to ensure alignment with business priorities. The road map is updated based on those changing business needs and updates made by Oracle and other vendors.

Quest Diagnostics won the HRO Today Association’s North America Award for Best in Class: HR Technology, Enterprise.
