New CHRO to Lead Team of 60 Human Resources Professionals

New York, N.Y. – Allegis Partners (AP), a global executive search firm, announced today that it has been retained by Tribune Media Company to recruit an executive vice president, chief human resources officer for the Chicago-based diversified media and entertainment business. Tribune Media comprises 42 owned or operated broadcast stations, employs approximately 14,000, and posted revenues of $2.01 billion in 2015. The position will report to CEO Peter Liguori, and partner closely with Larry Wert, president of local broadcasting.

The chief human resources officer will be responsible for corporate HR (compensation and benefits, talent acquisition and organizational development); broadcast media (comprising 20 HR generalists across the U.S.); the Gracenote business (a music/video/sports data provider that is headquartered in Emeryville, CA, with a staff of 15 generalists and recruiters); and the international group of HR generalists that reside in Canada, India and throughout Western Europe supporting international operations.

“Broadcasting is an operations intensive, competitive and fast-paced business, so outstanding team management and leadership ability is critical for the new CHRO,” said Mike Bergen, Allegis Partners’ global human resources practice leader, who will lead the search. “Allegis Partners’ size and knowledge of the HR talent landscape, with access to the best candidates, made us a natural choice to conduct this search on behalf of Tribune Media.”
