Hewitt Launches New Pension and Benefit Services in Hungary

Hewitt Associates, a global human resources (HR) services
company, has announced today an expansion of its activities in Hungary
with the launch of a new European pensions actuarial services team in
Budapest. The new team will serve Hewitt’s growing number of global
retirement and benefits consulting clients across Europe. In addition,
the Budapest office is extending its range of HR consulting services
with a new business unit, Pensions and Benefit Finance Consulting..

The actuarial services team will provide core pensions and actuarial
expertise covering a wide range of calculations and processing,
supporting Hewitt consultants in the provision of actuarial advice to
pension schemes.

Daniel Thomann, leader of retirement for Hewitt in Europe, said:
"The creation of the new team will enable our talented consultants to
spend more time with our clients and to increase the impact of our
expert knowledge and advice to our clients’ businesses.  By
consolidating some of our core actuarial processes and supporting
systems within the specialist team, we are also able to improve the
consistency and efficiency of the way we provide these services."

Nick Flint, strategy and change manager for Hewitt, added:
"Budapest fits perfectly into Hewitt’s global Retirement strategy.
With this Central European operation, we are extending our capabilities
to support our growing portfolio of Europe-based clients, and offering a
highly skilled and multi-lingual workforce which will become the
backbone of Hewitt’s pensions actuarial consulting business in Europe.

"Hewitt has chosen Budapest because of its strong language links to
the English, German, and French speaking countries and because it has
the ideal academic infrastructure for the people we would want to
employ, including a number of universities specialising in economics,
maths and actuarial sciences.  We already have a strong management team
established in Budapest and we can draw on their leadership expertise to
help grow the new elements to the office."

Hewitt has been operating as an HR consulting office in Budapest since
1997, serving a great number of its global and European clients and
advising many top Hungarian and multi-national organisations.

However, this is the first time that Hewitt’s Budapest office has
offered consulting to companies on retirement and health benefits –
working with them on the most effective way to provide these services to
employees.
