2015 Second Quarter revenue increases to record high $350 million
The second quarter results of AMN Healthcare Services have demonstrated an efficient quarter. Consolidated revenue was $350 million, an increase of 40 percent from the same quarter of last year and a 7 percent increase sequentially.
Second quarter gross margin of 31.4% was higher by 60 basis points than the same quarter last year and higher by 40 basis points sequentially. The year-over-year gross margin improvement was driven by an increased revenue mix of higher-margin workforce solutions businesses. Gross margin of 31.4% represented an improvement of 60 basis points year-over-year and 40 basis points from the prior quarter.
The Company expects consolidated third quarter 2015 revenue of $360 to $365 million. Gross margin is expected to be 31.0% to 31.5%. SG&A expenses as a percentage of revenue are expected to be approximately 22.0%, which includes integration-related expenses of approximately $0.7 million. Birks Group and Rideau announce strategic alliance
Birks Group Inc., operator of luxury jewelry stores in the U.S. and Canada, and Rideau Recognition Solutions Inc. have come together, as a definitive asset purchase agreement was recently announced. Birks Group’s Corporate Sales Division, also known as “Birks Business,” was sold to Rideau for CAD $4.625 million, or approximately USD $4.3 million. The Corporate Sales Division services business customers by providing them with unique items for recognition programs, service awards and business gifts.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rideau acquired the existing inventory of the Birks Corporate Sales Division and will continue the employment of the existing employees of the Corporate Sales Division. In addition, as part of the agreement, Birks will supply Rideau with Birks-branded jewelry and watches and Birks will receive ongoing royalty payments from Rideau related to the license of the Birks Business Brand and future sales of Birks-branded products.
