Ashok Govindaraju leads ISG’s Business Advisory Services (BAS) for Asia Pacific and is the BPO subject matter expert in the region. He has been involved in the BPO/ICT industry for over a decade with strong experience on both the service provider side and working with some of the largest corporations in Australia and globally. Within ISG, Ashok’s role is to deliver large BPO led business transformations helping organisations improve their efficiencies, operations and performance.
Ashok has catered to large organisations’ BPO assignments/requirements as the Head of BPO and Shared Services for HCL Technologies in the Financial Services, Retail, Automotive and Publishing industry segments. He has extensive experience in IT/BPO in a range of roles including consulting, sales management, pre-sales/solution delivery, strategic account management, channels & alliances.
He has served as the Head of HCL’s Telecom BPO practice, with a strong background in projects and transition management with global clients such as Sprint, British Telecom, Idearc, AT&T and Charter communications and has worked on integration of acquisitions into the organization. He has also worked on setting up a large Shared Services Centre in Manila with 400 employees in headcount for a large financial services client.
Ashok holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Network Engineering from Middlesex University and is an Electronic Engineering Graduate from University of Chennai, India with two post graduate diplomas in IT. He started his career as an entrepreneur and ran his own business successfully before moving on to working in the Telecom, Retail, IT and ITES industries across Europe, South East Asia and ANZ.
