HRO Today Association Update: Thought Leadership -Unlock Your Potential

By D. Zachary Misko

Thought leaders are the informed opinion leaders and the go-to people in their field of expertise. They are trusted sources who move and inspire people with innovative ideas; turn ideas into reality, and know and show how to replicate their success. We certainly have a great group of thought leaders and innovators involved in our association, as demonstrated by the outstanding group of HR executives, industry experts, and best-selling authors who speak at our Thought Leadership Councils (TLCs), as well as the people who attend them.

The HRO Today Services and Technology Association provides members with the opportunity to connect with other professionals, share best practices and content on our website, and discuss and set industry standards within the HR and outsourcing industry. Learning through our TLCs continues to be a member favorite and attracts a following via live webcasts and our on-demand TLC library. The TLC functional categories are designed as a member benefit to facilitate networking and engagement, and to strengthen the association’s relevance to HRO Today, our events, and the HR outsourcing industry in general. The following monthly TLCs support this effort and are held the second week of each month:

Talent Acquisition -second Tuesday of each month (recruitment, RPO, MSP, diversity, screening, relocation, metrics, branding);

Talent Management -second Thursday of each month (engagement, recognition, retention, motivation, learning, training and development);

Employee Relations and Services -second Friday of each month (compensation, benefi ts, payroll, compliance, policy, wellness, safety); and

Outsourcing -second Wednesday of each month (supply chain management, multi-process HRO, BPO, governance, contracts, sourcing).

Also generating interest from our members are podcasts -the newest version of these learning opportunities. We record brief five to 10-minute best practices and make them available to our members on demand. Thought leaders including members as well as industry experts continue to take advantage of this easy to produce and easy to use learning format.

Of course, we all look forward to the opportunity to meet, share, and network in person, and I look forward to interacting with our members at the upcoming HRO Today Forum North America in May and our HRO Today Forum APAC in June. These events include many opportunities to meet and learn. See our website for more details about the event and speaker line up.

By engaging in our association, you become part of the conversation. You allow other members the opportunity to get to know you and share your stories. Leaders are everywhere. Expose your thought leaders, and you begin the process of becoming a social business -real people with real faces talking to real industry experts and buyers. Our members are always looking for new ideas and solutions to solve problems. Are you willing to give it to them? And tell me, what do you think? What does thought leadership mean to you?
