SwedishAmerican Health System Consolidates Training with GeoLearning’s Internet-Hosted LMS Solution

Illinois-based health system sees immediate return on investment after deploying GeoLearning’s ASP-hosted learning platform.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa, February 8, 2005 — GeoLearning, Inc., the leading provider of Managed Learning Services and hosted learning technologies, announced today that SwedishAmerican Health System, a not-for-profit, locally governed health care system headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, has achieved significant cost-savings and return on investment from deploying its ASP-hosted GeoMaestroT learning management system and accompanying learning services.

SwedishAmerican launched its virtual Corporate University as a comprehensive platform for human capital management in 2003. In 2004, the health care organization deployed GeoLearning’s Web-based GeoMaestroT learning platform to develop, track and deliver enterprise-wide training.

Since implementation, the Corporate University has registered over 3,000 students with more than 32,500 registered courses. Both employees and volunteers recently leveraged the Internet to complete mandatory compliance training during SwedishAmerican’s annual Safety Fair. The new e-learning program saved SwedishAmerican approximately $92,000 in 2004, and course completion rate for the Safety Fair increased to an unsurpassed 99.7%.

“We researched LMS vendors for over two years and finally chose GeoLearning out of all competitors for their product flexibility and strong market lead,” said Cheri Cornelius, Director of Organizational Development for SwedishAmerican. “We can run all our health care-specific courses on GeoLearning’s Web-based platform, and we were impressed with the LCMS and ease of use for authoring our very own Safety Fair courses. Also important to us was the Online Product Library System. As a teaching hospital, this allows users to search for and check out materials rather than visiting our physical corporate library.”

GeoLearning’s hosted learning management platform centralizes and automates the entire learning management process, making the administration of enterprise learning and development both effective and efficient. All the functionality is delivered over the Internet-no additional software or hardware is required. In addition to GeoMaestro, SwedishAmerican has deployed several GeoLearning modules to enhance organization-wide learning, such as:

* Web-based Class & Event Scheduler to administer instructor-led training and facilitate a fully blended learning environment.

* Web-based MyPlan Competency Management tool to track performance planning and certifications.

* Online Product Library System to manage the network’s physical inventory of training materials.

* Medcom courses for registered nurses seeking Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

GeoLearning also provides Internet hosting, security and maintenance services, content vendor management, and 24×7 Help Desk support for SwedishAmerican employees and administrators as part of the 3-year learning services contract.
