Goodyear Selects ACS to Provide Human Resources BPO Services

DALLAS and AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ACS (NYSE: ACS) and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (NYSE: GT) today announced that they have signed a 10-year agreement for human resources (HR) services.

Under terms of the contract, ACS, a premier provider of business process and information technology solutions, will provide a wide range of HR business process services for Goodyear's Akron-based North American operations. Approximately 100 HR positions in Akron have transferred to ACS as part of the agreement.

ACS' technological and operational expertise are expected to provide Goodyear -- and its 40,000 North American associates -- improved human resources services and support, as well as more efficient processes and cost savings. ACS will institute a major technology upgrade for Goodyear's HR information system, allowing for greater efficiencies and lower costs.

"We are extremely impressed by the breadth and scope of the HR services we will be receiving as part of this agreement with ACS," said Kathleen T. Geier, Goodyear senior vice president of human resources. "ACS brings best-in-class- service to its clients, and Goodyear will receive ongoing process solutions from that excellence."

Geier anticipates savings of approximately $45 million resulting from the Goodyear's 10-year partnership with ACS as Goodyear HR transforms to a world- class shared services organization.

ACS process leaders, Geier said, will be a vital part of a shared service organization that will provide payroll, medical benefits administration, call center, training, recruiting and staffing systems for all Goodyear associates in North America, as well as global relocation services.

"ACS has distinguished itself as a leader and pioneer in the business process and human resources fields," said Geier. "We look forward to a very successful working relationship."

"We are committed to designing and delivering a human resources BPO solution that will fully address Goodyear's needs, improve its business and provide significant cost savings," said Lynn Blodgett, group president of ACS Commercial Solutions. "Our global human resources solutions will result in a host of measurable benefits for Goodyear and its associates."

"We are very excited about this partnership with a global leader such as Goodyear," he added. "We look forward to a seamless transition and a very successful partnership."
