Appoints former EquaTerra and Yankee Group executive as Executive Vice President of its Global Research Operations

BOSTON (November 14, 2005) – – NelsonHall, the leading independent Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) analyst firm, today announced that Phil Fersht has joined the company as Executive Vice President of BPO Research.  In this capacity, Fersht will lead NelsonHall’s industry leading Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) programs, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer John Willmott.

This senior executive hire is the latest in a series of moves that the growing company has made in the execution of its strategy, which includes developing highly targeted solutions and delivering them through a global network of highly skilled professionals and vertical practices.  Other recent analyst hires to NelsonHall’s expanding analyst fold include renowned industry experts Andy Efstathiou and Scott Golas, formerly of Yankee Group and AON Consulting respectively.

Fersht is a highly respected and recognized industry analyst and advisor across BPO towers worldwide, having lived and worked extensively in Europe, North America and Asia as an analyst and practitioner in BPO sourcing services to both service providers and buy-side communities for 10 years.  He combines this pan-global working knowledge with an extensive background in BPO dynamics to help organizations make educated sourcing decisions, based on research and benchmarking information. His research focus has enabled executives to make crucial decisions surrounding the management of their employees, customers and partners, and how they can leverage best practices in IT and outsourcing services to optimize their business performance.

Prior to NelsonHall, Fersht was the Managing Director of Research for leading sourcing advisory, EquaTerra inc., specializing in Human Resources Outsourcing.  Before that, Fersht was Research Vice President for Yankee Group’s global IT and BPO research groups.  He also served at research firm IDC from 1998 through 2003, where he was a Director for IDC’s Asia/Pacific’s advisory services, based out of Singapore, serving public sector, multi-national and local organizations.  He began his career at Tate Bramald Consultancy, a U.K.-based finance and accounting services specialist, where he led the research and consulting function.

During his career, Fersht has developed and driven research programs in business services across three continents, and is perhaps best known for establishing Yankee Group’s BPO programs in 2003 through 2005.  He has received significant industry accolades, including being named both an HRO and an F&A Superstar by both HROToday and FAOToday magazines in 2005, writes frequent columns for various leading industry publications, and speaks regularly at various global events, which have included Comdex, Las Vegas; HROWorld, New York; IDC Directions, Sydney; SBPOA’s F&A Transformation, London; Human Genome Congress, Tokyo; and Yankee Group’s Telecom Industry Forum, Washington D.C.

“The need for independent, unbiased and in-depth research, service provider assessments and benchmarking data has never been as intense as we see in today’s increasingly complex BPO market place,” said Fersht.  “NelsonHall is the one research firm that has consistently bridged this need since the early generation of BPO adoption in 1998, and its global expansion of its experienced analyst base is hard evidence that the firm is clearly the market leader in the BPO research space.  Its depth, breadth, quality and global coverage are unrivalled, and I am honored to be part of this growing team.”

”I am delighted that Phil has joined NelsonHall”, said John Willmott, NelsonHall’s CEO and founder.  “Phil’s contribution will be vital in helping NelsonHall extend its leadership in the BPO benchmarking and sourcing arena”.
