The Market is Smarter than You Think

A group is trying to launch a survey to compete with the HRO Today RPO Bakers Dozen Customer Satisfaction Survey. Our webmaster was checking on something with the web site for the RPO summit and received a number of automated RPO offers and one was for myrpobakersdozen.net. It seems someone just bought www.rpobakersdozen.com.

We never saw the need to buy this as we have more (possibly misplaced) faith in human nature. We choose to believe that no one would intentionally mislead the RPO buying community. Cie la vie.

The rumor is that someone is planning to launch a similar survey to “compete” with the RPO Bakers Dozen. We are OK with competition. Not with confusion. The rumor has it this survey will be the product of a small group called the RPOA or RPO Association. They recently hired a former RPO Alliance Director as their Executive Director. At one time the RPOA bought the URL for www.rpoalliance.com and squatted on it for years. I sense a pattern that I hope is genuinely not the case. I would hate to think there was any attempt to confuse the market.

I want to be clear to the buyers community, I would never recommend relying on the quality of a survey managed by a group of providers. Even with an “independent” survey partner it is still a provider group and not independent.

Secondly, I want to alert the provider community that if any provider joins the RPOA we will drop them from coverage by HRO Today Magazine of any kind as we are troubled by what we are hearing and until we are assured otherwise that is the way it will be. I believe we work too hard to maintain the quality of the information provided to buying community to do business with anybody that would engage in any activity that could confuse the issues.
