2006 Resource Guide

The fourth annual largest and most authoritative listing of HR service providers.

by HROT Staff

In the Northeast, October is a time for changing leaves and apple picking. But in Roseland, New Jersey, it marks the release of the HRO Today 2006 Resource Guide. This years comprehensive listing of providers has been expanded to include regions served and client size--two important issues for buyers--as well as an additional 100 providers. With 1,500 listings, the Resource Guide is destined to keep growing. And because we love a good HRO story, we have included a number of case studies.

This is the fourth annual Resource Guide, the worlds largest and most authoritative listing of HR service providers in 18 categories. When we started, back in 2002, there were 875 listings and 700 providers. Although the common wisdom is that the $59 billion HR market is consolidating, the reality is that the absolute number of providers keeps expanding. Buyers choices seem to continually get more complex, with new features and functions added daily. All this means that the HRO RFP (request for proposal) process is bound to get more harrowing.

Each year, we work a little harder to improve the Resource Guidesize wise and quality wise. This year, we added geographic and industry scope questions, which should help you refine your HRO provider search to approach only the providers who are focused on serving you and your unique type of needs. These innovations build on last years category changes and reader navigation improvements. For you HRO newbies out there, each section heading includes a description so you can navigate between, say enterprise HRO and payroll, without making an embarrassing (or career-ending) mistake. The headings of each listing section also feature an analysts-eye- view of the category, so you can sound like a real HRO pro when you are on the phone with these providers (or with your CEO).

Our glowing e-mails from users of last years Resource Guide have us thinking that you will enjoy this years version too. So dont throw it away. Keep it around until next year. By then, it will be all dog-eared from repeated use and you will be ready for the 2007 version.
